Greek Tacos!

I don't know about you, but I am a SUCKER for Mediterranean food! Even though the food can be extremely healthy, the fat and carbohydrates can add up quickly! Check out this heart healthy, yet flavor packed recipe I came up with!

Greek taco


For chicken

  • 2lbs chicken breast
  • 3 cups lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves (diced)
  • Salt/pepper to taste

Tzatziki Sauce

  • 3 cups non-fat plain greek yogurt
  • 8oz sliced cucumber
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Fresh dill (to taste)

For taco

  • Whole wheat pita
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced cucumbers
  • Crumbled feta cheese

Step 1

Crock pot with chicken breasts

  • Place cleaned/trimmed chicken breast in Crock Pot with lemon juice, garlic and salt/pepper.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours
  • Drain 3/4 liquid and shred all chicken using two forks

Step 2

Place yogurt, cucumber, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, and dill in food processor and blend until mixed well!

  • 1 whole wheat pita
  • 4oz lemon chicken
  • 1oz crumbled feta
  • 1/4 cup diced tomato
  • 1/4 cup diced cucmber
  • 2 tbsp homemade tzatziki
